Marketing With Promotional Apparel

Lets say you're at an event somewhere and your hear or read a banner that says? "Free T-Shirts!" what happens? Like a bee to honey you're drawn to atleast find out abut the offer. Don't feel bad, we all are. That's the effect of promotional apparel.

In the scenario above you, just like the rest of the crowd, do what you have to in order to get your shirt before they're all gone. I've even seen events where people are clearly simply wandering around the event and know nothing about it however always make sure to get their free promotion hat or shirt.

There is no doubt that people like free promotional articles, particularly articles of clothing, often this desire is completely regardless of what event is printed or promoted on the item. So the question is how do you as a business owner make the most of this promotional opportunity?

Initially, you want to have a clear goal for what you want that your promotion to accomplish. Decide if your promotional article is to be a gift or a reward for loyalty, a gesture of goodwill, a vehicle to communicate a message or a slogan as a walking billboard, a source of information, a way of promoting your brand or a conversation. Promotional apparel has and can be used effectively to do any of these.

Also get clear about who you are targeting with your message. Is the recipient of your promotional article potentially new, or already existing customers? Will you try to impress the recipient with your free article so that your brand remains at the top their mind the next time they're seeking to purchase what you sale? Or, is your item directed toward your regular customer base. You have to know the answers to these questions because each scenario will have a different strategy behind it.

Decide which impact you want your design elements to have. Is your message supposed to be a strong attention grabber, simply a conversation starter, or is it your intention to just show your logo.

Spending the necessary time to develop a good plan will greatly enhance your chances of a successful campaign.
